Pro Tips
Join us on Instagram! Go to your local app store and download Instagram, then follow us @wearemvmtstudents.
Make a group chat! Your students would love to hear from you during the week. A group chat is an easy way to share encouragement, updates, and events to your students.
Lead by example! Want your kids to bring their physical Bibles? Bring yours. Want your kids to take notes as they listen to the message? Take notes yourself. Want your kids to stay off their phones? Print off the guide and put your phone away. Want your kids to be kind and welcoming to others? Be kind and welcoming to others. You’re a leader before small group officially starts and your students are looking up to you as soon as you walk through the doors.
Listen and ask thoughtful questions! Your kids don’t need another sermon from you after they’ve heard one for 15 or so minutes. Provide a space for them to process the message and scripture they’ve just heard. Provide clarity on anything they seem confused on, genuinely listen to their answers, and ask follow-up questions. Remember: the guide is just a starting point for you.
Ask questions + give us feedback! If you need clarity on anything or have any ideas on we can be better, we’d love to hear from you.
Have fun! We are not a fun first ministry. First and foremost, we want our students to meet with Jesus, experience community, and serve others. There’s a joy that comes from these things that makes doing ministry a lot of fun. Our students are much more likely to engage when they sense your joy and see you having fun.
